EA Sports has marginally pushed back the release date of its upcoming PS5 golf simulation PGA Tour until 7th April, 2023 – aligning it with this year’s Masters, which is scheduled to tee off the day before. The title had been due out on 24th March, but the publisher says the small adjustment will enable it to “add a few final touches to the game […] including updates to some favourite courses to reflect 2023 designs”. Fair enough!
It’s worth noting that if you pod out for the Deluxe Edition, you’ll still be able to play a few days earlier than everyone else, from 4th April. That’s significant because this is actually EA Sports’ first golf game since 2015’s Rory McIlroy PGA Tour. As part of a preview event earlier this year, we described the new title as a “labour of love”, so let’s hope it realises it full potential when it finally swings onto PS5 in April.

Adding the loot boxes and micro transactions as well as working out which courses already in the game they will lock behind the cost of the season pass too..as much as i love my golf and golf games i'll hold off on this and see how much they try and rinse out of us..
Disappointing as I've been waiting a long time for this game but in the grand scheme of things an extra 2 weeks isn't the end of the world.
If I'm not mistaken I'm sure 7th April is good Friday meaning Ill probably end up buying it a few days later. I traditionally go out on a drinking session on Good Fridays and it takes me most of the Easter weekend to get back to some sort of normality
A gd walk ruined lol,in all honesty I don't like golf at all in real life but golf games are much more appealing I find ,could be because it's a very hard sport to be gd at ,I've tried it and very difficult but golf in games is where you can have yr cake and eat it ha ha
@lets_do-this_1999 yes golf is a hard game to play for real. I've been playing for around 6 years and i still struggle to keep in the 80's lol but i love it.
@Northern_munkey,gd on you for sticking with it ,and yes if you find you love something that you do then it all becomes so appealing, because of the challenge etc, and 1 great positive I've found whenever I've tried golf in real life is the fresh air being outside ,ad I'm very outdoorsy anyway apart from ps5 addiction lol,I remember being quite addicted to ,pga tour golf on pc afew yrs ago ,there's something I find relaxing about golf games , therapeutic I think is the word I was looking for, mind you the only way you can get better at anything is practice ,practice , practice the 11,000 hour practice theory will make you a genius apparently
Been thinking about picking up 2k golf for a while and it's currently only £17.99 at places...but I am going to wait and see how this reviews
@lets_do-this_1999 lol not sure about the genius part but yes golf has been equal parts good and traumatic for me. We have a good group and we have a laugh too. Cheers bud and enjoy whats left of the weekend unless you are a mufc fan 😵💫
Genuinely interested to see how this turns out. PGA 2K23 has been constantly on rotation for me ever since it launched. Great golf game but I'm still interested to see how EA's turns out. It certainly looks pretty that's for sure.
I wish more studios would delay their games by a few weeks/months as there are so many broken releases that get fixed pretty soon after launch. Hopefully this launches in a good state and isn't egregious with live service/MTX BS
I'm looking forward to this. I have the woods edition of 2k and it's great but the career I found lacking and didn't take long to win the tour so I'm really hoping the career is longer on this and I really hope getting sponsorships is better and have more options.
@themightyant 2 weeks won't make a lot of difference if its really bad.
